  2. Open the PDF with a PDF reader (Adobe Reader recommended)
  3. Click File → Print or press Ctrl+P (Mac: Cmd+P)
  4. Select your printer and paper size (usually Letter or A4)
  5. Click Print and you're done!

Print Settings

Recommended Settings

  • Paper Size: US Letter (8.5" × 11") or A4 (210mm × 297mm)
  • Color Mode: Black & White (saves ink!) or Color (for reference)
  • Quality: Normal or High quality
  • Orientation: Portrait (for most pages)
  • Scaling: "Fit to Page" or "Actual Size"

Paper Type

  • Regular Paper (20-24 lb) - Good for most coloring
  • Cardstock (65-80 lb) - Better for markers or heavy coloring
  • Premium Paper - Best results, less bleed-through

Tips for Best Results

Before Printing

Check your printer has enough ink ✅ Use good quality paper for better coloring experience ✅ Preview the PDF before printing to ensure correct orientation ✅ Test print one page first if unsure about settings

During Printing

Print in black and white to save colored ink ✅ Use "Best" or "High Quality" setting for clearer lines ✅ Ensure paper is loaded correctly in the printer tray ✅ Print multiple copies if you want to try different coloring styles

After Printing

Let ink dry for a few seconds before handling ✅ Store extra prints flat to prevent curling ✅ Keep originals in case you want to print more later

Troubleshooting

Problem: Lines are too light or faint

Solutions:

  • Increase print quality to "Best" or "High"
  • Check printer ink levels
  • Clean printer heads
  • Try a different paper type

Problem: Page doesn't fit properly

Solutions:

  • Check paper size matches your printer settings
  • Use "Fit to Page" or "Shrink to Fit" option
  • Verify orientation (Portrait vs Landscape)
  • Check margins in print settings

Problem: Ink smears or bleeds

Solutions:

  • Use thicker paper or cardstock
  • Let prints dry longer before touching
  • Check ink levels (old ink can smear)
  • Clean printer rollers

Problem: Colors print when you want black and white

Solutions:

  • Select "Grayscale" or "Black & White" in print settings
  • Choose "Print in grayscale" option
  • Check color management settings
  • Try printing from a different PDF viewer

Saving Ink Tips

💡 Print in Draft Mode - Uses less ink, still readable 💡 Use Black & White - Saves colored ink cartridges 💡 Print multiple pages per sheet for testing (but not recommended for actual coloring) 💡 Adjust density to lighter setting if available

Best Practices

For Young Children (3-5 years)

  • Use thick lines and simple designs
  • Print on cardstock for durability
  • Consider larger paper sizes if available

For Older Children (6-10 years)

  • Standard paper works well
  • Can handle more detailed designs
  • Try different paper textures for variety

For Classrooms

  • Print in bulk during low-usage times
  • Create a printing schedule to manage resources
  • Use draft mode for practice copies
  • Keep originals as masters for re-printing

Eco-Friendly Printing

🌱 Print double-sided when possible (for non-coloring materials) 🌱 Use recycled paper - good quality recycled paper works great 🌱 Print only what you need - no need to print entire collections 🌱 Reuse test prints as scratch paper
